Why Commercial Support?
Evidence now powers reporting and data apps across a huge range of organizations - from startups and independent businesses, to Fortune 100 companies and national governments. We remain dedicated to open source, and our community is growing, with 1,300 members in Slack, and over 4,000 GitHub stars. Through Slack, we offer free public support to community members, and we will continue to do so.
To ensure the project’s long-term sustainability and continued development, we are expanding our services to include paid support options.
Through hundreds of conversations with Evidence users, we’ve identified two distinct needs:
- Data teams focussed on building fast, performant apps for their businesses and customers, preferring a managed solution that avoids the complexities of hosting, authentication, scaling, and build process management
- Organizations requiring self-hosted deployments due to security/sovereignty requirements, regulations, or architectural needs
Evidence Cloud is already serving the first group. Recently, we’ve achieved our SOC 2 certification and launched our Cloud Execution Engine for large query volumes.
For organizations that need to self-host Evidence, we’ve been providing direct support to ensure successful deployments for a while. These teams often need:
- Risk mitigation: Guaranteed support, with SLAs, when critical issues arise
- Best practices: Guidance to build performant, maintainable, secure apps
- Enterprise-grade assurance: A commercial relationship with Evidence that helps ensure successful implementations
- Version management: Support with upgrades, migrations, and new feature adoption

To better serve these teams, we’re formalizing our support offering into two packages:
Core Support
Our Core Support, at $500 per month per developer seat, is designed for teams self-hosting Evidence apps in their organization:
- Private Slack Channel: Direct communication channel with your team
- Issue Prioritization: Automatic GitHub issue tagging and prioritized triage by our development team
- Priority Releases: Expedited version releases to prevent team blockers
This is a flexible, month-to-month package, with no long term commitments.
Premium Support
Our Premium Support, is our most comprehensive and flexible offering, for which we work with you to tailor a package to your needs. Some examples of what we can offer include:
- All Core Support features
- Service Level Agreements: Guaranteed support response times and issue resolution
- Managed Deployments: Upgrades, migrations, and performance monitoring
- Training Sessions: Hands on keyboard training to learn how to build with Evidence, including take home learning materials
