We’re thrilled to announce the launch of Evidence Studio, our new cloud product and the future of the Evidence platform.
Since we first launched Evidence, we’ve had the privilege of working with everyone from solo developers to global enterprises. Teams of all sizes have embraced our core promise: “looks good, goes fast, in code”.
With Evidence Studio, we are bringing that promise to a wider range of people and projects across your organization. Studio is a complete reimagining of our cloud offering, moving from a deployment solution to an end-to-end development, publishing, and governance platform.

Expressive New Syntax
One of the biggest advances in Evidence Studio is our new, more expressive syntax. It lets you define aggregation logic directly inside component definitions and comes with schema-aware runtime validation and intellisense.
This declarative approach cuts down boilerplate and makes your code easier to read, write, and maintain. In our testing with early access users, teams reduced page-level code by over 60%.
It’s not just less code - it’s a smoother development experience. You’ll catch syntax errors instantly, and you’ll receive schema-aware autocomplete suggestions as you type.
Cloud Development Environment
Evidence Studio introduces a fully web-based development environment that supports the entire lifecycle of building, testing, previewing and deploying your Evidence projects.
We’ve designed this IDE specifically for an analytics workflow, making it easy to move from idea to production. It includes purpose-built features like schema-aware autocomplete, component introspection, real-time previews, built-in validation, and integrated git-based version control.
Agentic AI
Studio’s development environment includes a built-in AI assistant that can generate Evidence code instantly based on natural language.
You can chat with the AI to scaffold in complete analyses, troubleshoot queries, and apply fixes with a single click. The agent knows your schema and receives runtime validation feedback on the code it writes, enabling it to quickly generate high quality edits.
New Query Engine
Evidence Studio is built around the new Evidence Query Engine. Queries in Evidence Studio now run server-side, against a highly optimized managed lakehouse. The query engine allows you to work with arbitrarily large datasets with a query-as-you-type development experience, and millisecond response times for users.
Self-Serve Experiences
Evidence Studio includes three new optional interfaces for your viewers: AI chat, explore, and console.
AI Chat
Ask questions about your data in natural language and get instant answers.
Explore Interface
Flexible pivot table interface that lets anyone drill into the data, export to Excel, and share filtered views with a link. It’s the fastest way to get the finance team off your back.
SQL Console
Power users can write ad-hoc queries against the Evidence Query Engine, with full autocomplete and error checking. Results can be exported or shared with a link.
Expanded Access Controls
Studio includes everything you need to govern access to your data and artifacts. You can now define page-level and row-level access rules to control exactly who can see what.
New Enterprise Governance Features and Pro Tier
Evidence Studio makes it easy to integrate Evidence into your identity and compliance stack - whether you’re serving 10 users or 10,000.

We will be sunsetting the current Cloud product by the end of this year and we are helping existing customers transition to Studio.
We are continuing to develop the open source version of Evidence and will be upgrading it to be compatible with Evidence Studio over the coming months.
